In February 2021, the new Hanyu Distillery started distilling Single Malt Whisky for the 1st time in over 20 years.
In this two decades, while the former distillery was “sleeping”, its whisky became a global appeal and received cult following. The legacy of Hanyu continues to grow as if we all knew that the day would come when its history will turn a new page.The day is finally here, and the page of this new history is waiting to be written by our generation. It was some 25 years ago that the former Hanyu Distillery filled its last bottle of whisky. Genesis marks the beginning of a new modern era in the history of Hanyu Single Malt.

There is not a better word to describe the story of Hanyu journey in relation to this new = rejuvenation = rebirth of Hanyu Distillery than “Genesis”. -
Number of Bottles:
2021“2021” is a very symbolic number because it is on this year-2021 that this new Hanyu Distillery distilled its Single Malt after a lapse of 20 years. Therefore, the 1st Genesis release is limited to only 2021 bottles worldwide. -
Genesis Collection:
The Genesis collection is expected to eventually become a series of 8 – 12 releases spanning over the next decade. The objectives is to share with Hanyu fans worldwide this beautiful Single Malt of different maturation casks/wood and age. This could potentially become a very valuable collection series in relation to the historical rebirth of Hanyu Distillery. -
